App Army Reviews: Fragile Mind Puzzle Game

Author: Adam Mar 12,2025

This week, the Pocket Gamer App Army tackled A Fragile Mind, a recently released puzzle adventure from Glitch Games. The game, a twist on the classic escape room formula with a dash of humor, received a mixed but engaging response from our community.

Here's what our App Army had to say:

Initially, the game's icon led me to believe it would be rather dull. However, A Fragile Mind proved to be a surprisingly unique and engaging puzzle adventure. The puzzles are challenging but rewarding, making it one of the best puzzle games I've played recently. I highly recommend playing it on a tablet for the best experience.

A Fragile Mind is a point-and-click puzzle adventure with static, pre-rendered graphics. While the overarching story remains somewhat elusive, each chapter unfolds on a different floor of a building, presenting increasingly complex puzzles to navigate. Interestingly, you can progress to the next floor without solving every puzzle on the current one, and some puzzles require items found later in the game. The game features clever fourth-wall-breaking moments, like descriptions indicating an item's lack of detail.

The hint system, while helpful, is perhaps a bit too generous. The puzzles themselves are satisfyingly logical, revealing themselves once you find the right approach. The game's navigation, however, can be slightly confusing at times, particularly when moving between interconnected rooms and corridors. Despite this minor drawback, A Fragile Mind is a well-crafted example of the genre and highly recommended for fans of point-and-click puzzle adventures.

A Fragile Mind is a first-person puzzle adventure that begins with the player waking up in a building's garden, with no memory of who they are or how they got there. Gameplay involves exploring the building, taking photos, and collecting clues to solve puzzles. While the graphics and sound aren't spectacular, they are adequate. The puzzles are challenging, often requiring the use of a walkthrough. Although short, it's a worthwhile experience for puzzle adventure enthusiasts.

While I generally enjoy escape-room style puzzle games on mobile, A Fragile Mind unfortunately falls short. The presentation is somewhat muddy, making it difficult to discern puzzle elements. Poor UI design choices, such as the placement of the menu button, further detract from the experience. The pacing feels off, with too many puzzles available from the outset, leading to a feeling of being lost and requiring frequent use of the hint system.

I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games due to their difficulty and often underwhelming payoff. However, A Fragile Mind pleasantly surprised me. The aesthetic and atmosphere are appealing, and the puzzles are intriguing. The hint system is well-implemented, offering assistance without spoiling the solutions. Overall, it's a good, albeit short, experience, well worth the price.

A Fragile Mind throws players into a series of interconnected puzzles, reminiscent of a giant Jenga game. Each room presents multiple clues and puzzles that must be solved simultaneously to progress. The game encourages taking in-game photos and notes. It plays flawlessly on Android and offers extensive visual and sound options, along with good accessibility features. The gameplay is brisk, lasting about an hour for experienced puzzle solvers, and includes enjoyable humor and puns.
