I’ve lost count of the number of times the release of Cassette Beasts got delayed. But finally, it has landed on Android globally. Developed by Bytten Studio and published by Raw Fury, it’s now available on mobile devices after two years since its initial launch on PC.
Now that it’s here, let me give you a quick intro to the game. You might be familiar with cassettes, those vintage music players your parents used to enjoy. If not, a quick search online will bring you up to speed.
Play the Cassette Beasts on Your Player
You find yourself stranded on a peculiar island named New Wirral, a place that feels out of time and reality. Here, monsters roam freely, locals transform into creatures to battle them, and the island's very essence is powered by cassette tapes.
Your goal in Cassette Beasts is to survive on the island and unravel the mystery of how to return home. To achieve this, you'll need to use your cassette player to record the monsters. Once recorded, you can play these tapes back to transform into the monsters themselves.
Forge strong relationships with the residents of Harbourtown, and you’ll unlock the ability to fuse monster forms with your partner, creating unique and powerful hybrids. With the potential to combine any two monsters, the possibilities are virtually limitless.
There’s a Whole World to Explore
New Wirral is brimming with dungeons, puzzles, and secret areas that you can only access by harnessing the right monster abilities. Whether you're gliding over cliffs, swimming through enigmatic waters, scaling seemingly insurmountable walls, or even manipulating magnetism, there's a world of exploration awaiting you.
The game features a turn-based combat system enriched with an elemental chemistry mechanic. By strategically combining different types, you can disrupt your enemies, enhance your team’s capabilities, or even alter an opponent’s elemental type during battle.
Cassette Beasts supports Bluetooth controllers, although you might encounter minor issues. The game is free to play, so if you're curious, you can easily download it from the Google Play Store.
