Clash of Clans to Remove Troop Training Times in Major Update

Author: Jack Apr 10,2025

Clash of Clans, a cornerstone of mobile gaming, is about to undergo a significant transformation that will undoubtedly shake up the gameplay experience for its dedicated fanbase. Supercell, the game's developer, has been steadily modernizing the game, and the latest update is set to be one of the most impactful yet. The upcoming change? The complete removal of troop, spell, and siege unit training times, allowing players to deploy their armies almost instantly and dive into battles faster than ever before.

This follows Supercell's decision in 2022 to eliminate training costs, marking another step towards streamlining the game's mechanics. As of today, Training Potions and Training Treats will no longer be available through in-app purchases or chest rewards. However, you can still acquire them from the Trader and Gold Pass for the time being. It's crucial to use these items before the end of the month, as they will be converted to Gems thereafter.

To help players adapt to this new dynamic, Supercell is introducing a feature called "Match Anytime." This mechanic allows you to attack a snapshot of another player's base when no real-time opponents are available. You'll still earn rewards, but players whose bases are used won't lose anything if defeated. This system, already in use for Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, will now become a standard feature.

Alongside these changes, expect other updates such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a comprehensive overview of all the changes, be sure to visit the Supercell blog.
