Becoming a Hollow in Hollow Era

Begin as a Soul Spirit, facing a crucial choice: Shinigami or Hollow. To embrace the Hollow path, sever all chains binding your spirit. Don't worry if you're slow; a chain link breaks automatically every two minutes, ensuring your transformation within minutes.

Warning: While Hollows are undeniably cool, their path demands significant grinding and repetitive kills. Reaching Vasto Lorde or Espada requires considerable dedication and patience.

Hollow Progression in Hollow Era

Your journey begins with the Gillian transformation. Grind by eliminating Hollows and consuming their remains. Reach level 15 to evolve, but at level 10, unlock the Garganta gateway to Hueco Mundo for easier Hollow hunting. Remember, Hollows face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike Shinigami. (See our full Shinigami progression guide for comparison.)

Gillian Form in Hollow Era

As a Gillian, continue eliminating Hollows and interacting with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Accumulate Progression Points to be transported to your inner world, where you must defeat five challenging Hollows three times to evolve into an Adjucha.

These inner-world Hollows are significantly tougher than their counterparts. Don't fear death; you can repeat this challenge.

Adjucha Form in Hollow Era

Now, choose your evolution path: Vasto Lorde or Arrancar.

Arrancar Progression

To become an Arrancar, interact with a Crystal Bush (spawning every 30-60 minutes in Hueco Mundo). This grants Hueco Mundo access and unlocks Kendo skills. At level 50, pursue your Resurrección (more on that later).

Vasto Lorde Progression

To become a Vasto Lorde, continue accumulating Progression Points by eliminating and consuming Hollows. Death results in a 1% Progression Point loss. Reaching Vasto Lorde requires 800 Progression Points and collecting all Hollow Items (with random drop chances). Here's a list of Hollow Items and their sources:

• Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop, +1 Reiatsu regeneration, +1 Speed)
• Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop, +1 Reiatsu)
• Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
• Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop, +1 Reiatsu)

Vasto Lorde Form in Hollow Era

Becoming a Vasto Lorde is challenging. Gather 800 Progression Points and all Hollow Items to achieve this formidable form.

Becoming Espada in Hollow Era

From Vasto Lorde, evolve into an Espada by interacting with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo. Disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field for easier spotting from high vantage points.

How to Get Your Resurrección

As an Arrancar or Espada, reach level 50 and speak to Isen (King of Hueco Mundo). Complete his quest (defeating 50 Arrancars) to unlock your Resurrección, activated by a full Rage Bar (filled through damage dealt or received). The default keybind is "Y," deactivating upon Reiatsu or Rage depletion.
