Bring Large Dung Pods

Hirabami presents a surprisingly difficult boss fight in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Unlike solitary monsters, these creatures travel in packs, significantly increasing the challenge. Your best bet? Bring plenty of Large Dung Pods to disperse the group, allowing you to tackle them one at a time.

Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo

Hirabami's aerial prowess adds another layer of difficulty. While ranged weapons like Bows are effective, melee users might struggle. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your friend here. If you're short on ammo, severing Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into the necessary ammo.

Utilize Environmental Traps

The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers strategic advantages. Exploit the Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars to your advantage. Dropping these onto Hirabami's head can stun and inflict significant damage.

Aim for the Head

The head remains the most effective target, but Hirabami's aerial habits make it challenging for melee users. Focus on attacking the head when it descends, avoiding the highly-defended torso.

Watch the Tail

Hirabami's unpredictable attacks—bites, spit, and devastating dive attacks—require vigilance. While keeping your distance is key, be mindful of its powerful tail slams.

To capture Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the mini-map). Quickly set a Pitfall or Shock Trap and follow up with a Tranquilizer. Time is of the essence; failure results in escape. While capturing guarantees rewards, it reduces the chances of obtaining extra materials from weak point hits.

Mastering Hirabami requires strategy and preparation. Utilize Large Dung Pods or the SOS feature for assistance. Good hunting!
