Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 actor Ned Luke reassures fans that GTA 6 is worth the wait and makes a bold prediction about its sales. Dive into the details to learn more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, confidently predicts that GTA 6 will generate a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day of sales. In a candid interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement about the upcoming game, emphasizing that Rockstar Games always manages to surprise fans with their innovative approaches.
"Be patient," Luke advised fans. "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He drew a comparison to GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, suggesting that GTA 6 is poised to surpass these figures significantly.
According to research from DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and rake in $3.2 billion within its first year, with an impressive $1 billion coming from pre-orders alone.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6
Luke also shared his thoughts on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in both GTA Online and GTA 6. He noted that his character, Michael, has not appeared in GTA Online since its launch, unlike the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, who have made appearances.
He hinted at the possibility of Michael featuring in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even making a comeback in GTA 6. Steven Ogg, the actor who portrayed Trevor, shared with ScreenRant in January 2025 his vision of Trevor's role in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor could meet his end early in the game.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke remarked. While both actors are keen to reprise their roles, no official confirmation has been made regarding the return of these characters in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase
Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York revealed that GTA 6 is likely entering its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, reported by GamesRadar, York discussed how GTA 6 aims to be unlike any other game, highlighting its current stage of development.
York emphasized the game's unpredictability, saying, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes that the game is now in the testing phase, with developers still adding final touches and extras.
York also suggested that the game is already playable and speculated that it has been extensively tested internally.
Rockstar Games first unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, but has since remained tight-lipped about further details. It was previously reported that GTA 6 is slated for a Fall 2025 release, according to Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024, though no official release date has been confirmed.
