Hyper Light Breaker features seven crucial resources essential for unlocking gear, permanent upgrades, character progression, and overall survival. While their importance is undeniable, obtaining and utilizing these materials isn't always straightforward. This guide clarifies everything players need to know about gathering and spending resources effectively.

All collected resources appear under the Items tab in the inventory menu, making tracking supplies effortless.

Bright Blood: The Universal Currency

As Hyper Light Breaker’s most common resource, Bright Blood drops from fallen enemies, shattered objects, and crates throughout the Overgrowth. Selling unwanted gear to Hub vendors also provides extra Bright Blood.

How to Utilize Bright Blood:

• Extract Blades and Rails from defeated foes
• Unlock Stashes and other high-value containers
• Purchase new weapons and gear from vendors
• Upgrade existing equipment

Gold Ration: Meta-Progression Powerhouse

Players earn Gold Rations by completing Cycles, typically achieved after exhausting all four Rezes (revives). Upon death, an NPC appears at the Hub Telepad, allowing players to reset the Overgrowth and progress toward rewards.

This resource unlocks permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Additionally, vendors offer expanded services in exchange for Gold Rations.

Abyss Stone: Boss Battle Rewards

Defeating Crowns, Hyper Light Breaker’s formidable bosses, grants Abyss Stones. Finding these enemies requires collecting Prisms, marked by yellow diamonds on the map.

Strategic Uses:

• Strengthen Sycom stats before Overgrowth runs
• Unlock new playable characters

Key: Accessing Hidden Loot

Keys appear sporadically inside unmarked containers scattered across the Overgrowth. Though tricky to locate, they’re invaluable for:

• Opening blocked paths leading to Stashes
• Entering Labs—subterranean areas filled with enemies and loot

MediGem: Healing Resource Management

Found within glowing flowers in the Overgrowth, MediGems convert into Medkits—essential survival tools.

Critical Note:

Players must first unlock Medkit capacity using Gold Rations via Pherus Bit.

Core: Enhancing Character Stats

Acquired from Stashes or by combining four Core Shards, Cores boost Sycom abilities during loadout prep.

Shards drop from Prism enemies (yellow map markers) and random loot piles.

Material: Crafting & Trading Currency

Primarily obtained from gem-marked chests (spent with Bright Blood) or selling unused gear, Material serves as a secondary currency for vendor purchases—albeit with fewer options than Bright Blood.
