The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature different pricing strategies in Japan and globally. Enthusiasts should pay attention to the details regarding the pricing of the different versions of the Switch 2.
Switch 2 Japan Price Lower Than Global Version
Switch 2 Will Have 2 Language System Versions
The Nintendo Switch 2 will offer distinct pricing for Japan and the rest of the world. This next-generation gaming console comes in two versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System for worldwide use. The Japanese version will be available at a more affordable price of around $330, in contrast to the Multi-Language System version, which will retail at $449.99. This significant price gap of over $100 is largely due to the current weak yen against the USD, impacting the cost for international tourists buying products in Japan.
Residents in Japan can opt for the Multi-Language System version if they prefer. However, the Japanese-language system version is strictly for the Japanese market and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to Japan. This version supports only the Japanese language and is limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
For those interested in using the Switch 2 with languages other than Japanese, Nintendo recommends purchasing the Multi-Language System version. More detailed information about this version will be disclosed on April 4.
