Marvel Rivals’ Season 1 Event Missions Are a Big Hit With Fans

Marvel Rivals' Season 1: Eternal Night Falls is off to a strong start, exceeding expectations and delighting players. The season's launch saw a new concurrent player record on Steam, a DICE Award nomination, and a Players' Choice award from PlayStation. This success is fueled by positive player feedback and developer commitment to ongoing content updates.

The introduction of Midnight Features event quests has been particularly well-received. Players appreciate the flexibility of completing these quests across various game modes, including Quick Play, Competitive, and crucially, against AI opponents. This latter option provides a less pressured environment for experimenting with new heroes and tackling challenges. The rewards, such as a preview of Blade and a free Thor skin, have also contributed to the positive reception.

The visual presentation of the event quests has also undergone a significant upgrade. An animated Daily Bugle-style newspaper within the Events tab showcases each quest, enhancing the overall experience. While not all quests are immediately available (full unlock expected January 17th), the anticipation is high.

Beyond the event quests, Season 1 boasts improvements across the board. Players are pleased with the increased rewards in the battle pass (two free skins instead of one), the addition of new maps and a game mode, and the implemented balance changes. The developers' commitment to regular updates, with a new playable hero planned every six weeks, further solidifies player optimism. Future seasons may feature less content than Season 1's Fantastic Four debut, but the consistent addition of new heroes maintains excitement. The developers' responsiveness to community feedback is a key factor in Marvel Rivals' current success.
