Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and refinements. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), the patch fulfills a January promise to address community feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart on any previously completed difficulty level, retaining acquired weapons and Ninpo (though reset to level 1). Note: difficulty level cannot be immediately increased via New Game Plus.

Improved quality of life comes in the form of a toggleable "Show Projectile Weapon" option within the Game Settings menu, allowing players to hide their back-mounted projectile weapon.

Balance adjustments include reduced enemy HP in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy numbers in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks.

Numerous bug fixes are also included, addressing high-performance PC issues, game-breaking bugs in specific chapters, and more. See the full patch notes below for details.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, initially surprising players with its January release during the Xbox Developer Direct, is a visually enhanced Unreal Engine 5 version of the classic. The updated version boasts improved graphics, new playable characters, and enhanced battle mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised its visual improvements over Sigma 2, while noting a potential shift in enemy balance.
