The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first international PUBG Mobile Esports event of the year. With over 90,000 competitors registered, the Open Qualifiers, which began on February 13th, offer a golden opportunity for emerging talent to showcase their skills and vie for a coveted spot in the PMGO Main Event.
A hefty prize pool of $500,000 is up for grabs, but teams must navigate through several rounds to reach the pinnacle. This tournament is exclusively for amateurs, providing a platform for fresh talent to shine. Teams that include at least one player ranked in the Ultimate 500 from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have directly advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, these emerging squads will fight tooth and nail to secure their place in the PMGO Prelims, where they will confront the top teams from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
From the Prelims, twelve teams will earn the chance to compete against the cream of the crop at the PMGO Main Event. Four professional teams have already secured their spots based on their stellar performances at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024: Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage. Additionally, four more teams will join them from various regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers will continue until March 2nd, with the Prelims scheduled for April 10th-11th, culminating in the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This event signals the beginning of an action-packed year for PUBG Mobile Esports, leading up to the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the return of the PMGC later in 2025.
