Rebel Wolves Set Sights on The Witcher 3 Level Quality for The Blood of Dawnwalker

Former developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, now at Rebel Wolves, have unveiled their ambitious new project: The Blood of Dawnwalker. While not aiming for a full-scale AAA production, the team's aspirations are undeniably high.

Rebel Wolves' founder, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, clarified the studio's vision: "We want AAA quality, like The Witcher 3—that's our heritage. But as a small studio on our first project, we're creating something more compact yet just as polished."

The game's projected playtime is a substantial 30-40 hours: "Comparing anything to The Witcher 3, which was meant to last 100+ hours but often exceeded 200-300 hours, is crazy. But is size what makes a game AAA? Call of Duty is AAA without a massive campaign. So, does scale really matter?"

Tomaszkiewicz further de-emphasized industry classifications like "AAA" and "AAAA," deeming them largely irrelevant.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an action RPG centered around a half-vampire racing against time—30 days and 30 nights to be precise—to save his loved ones. Despite the time-sensitive narrative, the developers promise a smooth and engaging experience. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, though a specific release date is yet to be announced.
