Sega Launches Sega Account
A One-Stop Account For All Your Sega/Atlus Needs, Plus Bonuses
Sega has embraced the trend of account systems with the launch of Sega Account, a service designed to offer a multitude of benefits to its users. According to the official website, "SEGA Account is a profile that lets you maximize SEGA's online services and offers a ton of benefits."
As a Sega Account user, you'll stay updated with the latest Sega/Atlus game news, upcoming events, and promotions. Moreover, account holders enjoy exclusive bonuses and the convenience of linking gaming accounts across various platforms for seamless tracking. In the future, you'll also be able to review your gameplay records across different titles.
To celebrate the launch, Sega is offering a special incentive for players who create a Sega Account and link it to a compatible platform account (Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox) capable of playing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii before March 7th. Eligible players will receive a unique code for the Kazuma Kiryu Special Outfit DLC, transforming protagonist Goro Majima into the iconic suit of Kazuma Kiryu. Codes will be distributed starting February 17th and can be redeemed in-game once it launches on February 28th.
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis (NGS) players who link their Sega Accounts will also receive exclusive benefits, including 300 Star Gems, 100x C/Endymio, 500x Card Scratch Tickets, 3 Beauty Salon Passes, 3 Color Change Passes, and a charming Lobby Action featuring your character proudly displaying the Sega logo.
May Be Connected To Upcoming Super Game Title
There's speculation that the launch of Sega Account may be linked to Sega’s ambitious "Super Game" project, announced by CEO Haruki Satomi in 2022. He stated, "One strategy for generating such hit titles is the creation of a 'Super Game' - a large-scale global title. We're currently developing such a game, targeting release by the fiscal year ending March 2026."
While details on the Super Game remain scarce two years after its initial announcement, Sega and its subsidiaries have been busy developing a range of titles, from classic revivals like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and Golden Axe, to innovative new projects like the mysterious Yakuza-like Project Century. The introduction of Sega Account could mark the beginning of a new era for Sega, setting the stage for future developments and the much-anticipated Super Game.
