Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch includes a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.
A year in the making, Smite 2, built with Unreal Engine 5, offers a refined experience over its predecessor. Visuals and combat are enhanced, and the item shop is revamped for greater flexibility. Core gameplay remains true to the original, featuring 5v5 battles between gods from various mythologies. Following a successful closed alpha, the open beta opens the game to all players.
This open beta introduces substantial new content:
- Aladdin: A brand-new god, designed specifically for Smite 2, with unique wall-running and revival mechanics.
- Returning Game Mode: The popular 3v3 Joust mode makes a comeback.
- New Map: An Arthurian-themed map joins the roster.
- Conquest & Assault Updates: The Conquest map receives updates, and an alpha version of the Assault game mode is included.
- God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.
- Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse) expand the playable roster.
The creative director at Titan Forge Games has stated that Smite 2 surpasses its predecessor in numerous aspects. The team expressed gratitude for player feedback gathered during the closed alpha and promised ambitious content releases throughout 2025.
While available on major platforms, Smite 2 is currently unavailable for Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, Titan Forge Games remains open to a potential release on the Nintendo Switch 2. The open beta is now available for download.
