Stellar Blade's recent update, Patch 1.009, brought the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, but unfortunately, also introduced some critical bugs.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
The update caused game-breaking issues for some players. A main quest softlock in an earlier dungeon prevented progression for several users. Others experienced crashes while using the Photo Mode's selfie camera, and new cosmetic items failed to render correctly on Eve.
Developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix to address these problems. They advise players to avoid forcing quest progression and wait for the patch to prevent permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The NieR: Automata collaboration is a key feature of Patch 1.009. The developers highlighted the significant inspiration drawn from NieR: Automata, emphasizing the collaborative spirit between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive collaboration items are available through Emil, a NieR character now residing in Stellar Blade's world.
The much-requested Photo Mode finally arrives, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) to modify Tachy Mode have been added. A "No Ponytail" option provides additional character customization. Further improvements include lip-sync for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
