If you're an avid gamer looking to bring home some video game-inspired replicas or figurines from your travels, you might want to think twice before packing anything that resembles a weapon from the Call of Duty series. A recent post from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) serves as a reminder of this, spotlighting a replica figurine of the Monkey Bomb from Call of Duty's Zombies mode that was found in a checked bag at Boston Logan International Airport.

The Monkey Bomb, also known as the Cymbal Monkey, is a familiar sight in various Call of Duty games, from World at War to Black Ops 6. This particular figurine is designed to hold a game controller with its outstretched hands, but its design also mimics a weapon adorned with dynamite and cables.

"This monkey may rack up points in a game, but in real life, leave the gear for your loadout screen, not your baggage," the TSA's post stated. "Replica weapons and explosives, no matter how cool or collectible, aren't allowed in either carry-on or checked baggage."

The TSA's website further elaborates on prohibited items, including "squirt guns, Nerf guns, toy swords, or other items that resemble realistic firearms or weapons." This serves as a nod to the realistic quality of the Monkey Bomb replica statue, though it's a reminder to be cautious.

It's essential to be aware of these regulations if you're planning to attend a convention or any event where you might pick up gaming merchandise. Whether it's a Monkey Bomb figurine or a set of Naruto-themed throwing knives, the TSA prohibits any item in checked or carry-on baggage if they believe it poses a security threat, even if it's just a replica.
