On January 7, 2025, Microsoft unveiled seven new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass via the official Xbox blog. Road 96, a choice-driven game from 2021, is available to play immediately across all Game Pass tiers, including PC Game Pass. Although Road 96 had previously been available on the service, it was removed in June 2023 and is now making a comeback alongside other titles announced in December 2024. The remaining six games in the January lineup will be released later in the month, with most arriving on January 8 and two on January 14.

However, access to these games will be limited; Diablo is exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, while UFC 5 is available only to Ultimate members. The rest of the lineup, including the sci-fi game Lightyear Frontier, which is still in early access, can be enjoyed with a Standard subscription.

In addition to the new games, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can take advantage of new perks starting January 7, including a weapon charm for Apex Legends and DLC packs for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball. As new games arrive, others must depart, and Microsoft has confirmed that six titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15:
