"Assassin's Creed Shadows Taps Critical Role Star"

Author: Aaron Jan 18,2026

Robbie Daymond from Critical Role will debut in Assassin's Creed Shadows next week as Rufino, a recruitable ally for protagonists Yasuke and Naoe.

Daymond previously voiced Rufino in a Shadows promotional one-shot. The character sports Portuguese-inspired attire with an elaborate doublet and distinguished mustache.

The free update launching Wednesday, June 25 introduces Rufino as one of Shadows' six recruitable allies. This marks Ubisoft's latest post-launch story content following their recent Dead by Daylight crossover mission.

While past Shadows DLC offered roughly 20 minutes of gameplay, Rufino's status as a recruitable ally suggests deeper involvement than previous content drops.

The extent of Rufino's interactions remains unconfirmed. Will he assist in combat like other allies? Could romance options emerge? Or will he simply occupy space in your hideout? Answers arrive next week.

Ubisoft's June update also introduces requested features: adjustable difficulty, immersive gameplay toggles, an open-world alert system, and cutscene headgear visibility options.

Future updates will bring New Game Plus and additional crossover stories. Shadows' first major expansion—Claws of Awaji—will launch later in 2025, continuing the main story while introducing new Japanese territories to explore.
