Forty elite teams will gather to compete at the Daiwa House PREMIST DOME, vying for the coveted title of Apex Legends' global esports champion.
This marks a significant milestone for the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS), which has previously hosted events in the US, UK, Sweden, and Germany. EA's announcement emphasized the excitement of bringing a LAN event to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for the first time. "This year will be extra special as we are having our first LAN event in APAC," the statement read, highlighting the growing esports community in Japan.
John Nelson, EA's Senior Director of Esports, expressed enthusiasm about the choice of venue: "ALGS has a very large community in Japan, and we have seen many comments calling for an offline event in Japan. That's why we couldn't be more pleased to celebrate this milestone with an offline tournament held at the iconic Daiwa House Premist Dome."

Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto shared his pride and excitement about hosting such a prestigious event: "We are extremely honored that the Daiwa House Premist Dome has been selected as the venue for this global e-sports tournament. As the championship approaches, fans can gear up for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) happening from September 13 to 15, 2024. This event offers teams one last shot at qualifying for the ALGS Year 4 Championships.
