Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Global Release Schedule Revealed

Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a departure from the usual trend, this title will launch with a unified release date across all platforms, and there will be no option for early access through additional payments.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC players should note that the release times differ depending on the platform. Those purchasing through Steam or Ubisoft’s own platform, Ubi Connect, will experience different launch schedules.

Pre-loading is already available for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, ensuring fans can dive into the game the moment it goes live.

The stakes are high for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as Ubisoft faces significant pressure following a series of delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has encountered several setbacks, including high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this release.

IGN’s review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an impressive 8/10, praising the game for refining its open-world systems and delivering one of the best experiences in the franchise’s recent history. "By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade," the review stated.
