Obsidian Entertainment recently unveiled a comprehensive 2025 post-launch roadmap for Avowed, accompanied by the release of patch notes for its 1.4 update. Details about the game’s current status and future plans were shared on the Obsidian website today. While the 1.4 update brings meaningful additions such as an Arachnophobia mode for those who prefer their giant spiders to resemble harmless blobs and tweaks to map exploration, it’s the roadmap that highlights the most exciting prospects.
Obsidian has lined up three major updates for Avowed in 2025. The first of these is live now with update 1.4, featuring improvements like mouse and keyboard support on Xbox, enhanced gold and crafting materials, gear adjustments, a new party camp feature, and more. For those yet to explore Eora, the summer update promises cooking and crafting enhancements, fresh NPC interactions, additional weapons and armor, and custom map markers. Finally, the fall update will cap off the year with eagerly awaited features such as new game plus and photo mode. It’s shaping up to be Obsidian’s most significant update yet, complete with a new weapon type, the ability to alter appearances in-world, more character presets, and more. The team also addressed language localization, acknowledging players in Korea, Japan, and French-speaking regions, with localized versions actively in development.
Launched on February 18, 2025, Avowed is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. Obsidian teased their excitement about what lies ahead for the game.
