Battledom Alpha: Strategy Game Unveiled

Author: Patrick Jan 09,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 game, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom offers flexible RTS combat mechanics, letting players freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance the gameplay.

Players use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; players can equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Resource gathering is essential, requiring players to collect wood, leather, coal, and other materials, then visiting the blacksmith, magician, and other village specialists.

Frenken is renowned for Herodom, which holds a 4.6 App Store rating. Boasting over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles, Herodom also features unlockable hairstyles, bodies, crops, and farm animals.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
