Confirmed: $70 Pricing Instead of $80
Borderlands 4 Pre-Orders Officially Open
Gearbox Software has officially revealed Borderlands 4's pricing as pre-orders begin. On June 16, the official Borderlands Twitter (X) account announced pre-order availability across all platforms.
The announcement confirmed a $70 Standard Edition, with Deluxe at $100 and Super Deluxe at $130, settling fan concerns about a potential $80 price point.

The pricing became controversial weeks earlier when Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford avoided direct answers about costs. On May 14, his suggestion that "real fans" would accept an $80 price angered players.
The debate continued until May 29, when Pitchford clarified his comments in a lengthy Twitter thread attempting to resolve the situation.

"I regret any misunderstanding," Pitchford wrote. "My sincere belief is that players should pay only what they feel comfortable with, and I always aim for customers to feel they've gotten excellent value."
Despite this apology, many remain wary of Pitchford's earlier "real fans" remark. However, the confirmed $70 pricing has alleviated some player concerns about excessive costs.
