Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for a potential BioShock movie, citing the game as one of his all-time favorites. In a recent Reddit AMA promoting his new film, Novocaine, Quaid highlighted the deep lore of BioShock, suggesting it could be well-suited for a TV or movie adaptation. He stated, "I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
The possibility of a BioShock film has been a topic of interest, especially after producer Roy Lee mentioned last July that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to leadership changes at Netflix. This shift aims to create a "more personal" film, influenced by lower budgets. Details about the plot remain under wraps, but Francis Lawrence, known for directing "The Hunger Games," is still set to helm the project. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
In addition to his interest in BioShock, Quaid has been compared to the video game character Max Payne due to his striking resemblance to Sam Lake, the writer behind the game. This resemblance has been particularly noticeable in scenes from his new action movie, Novocaine, leading some fans to speculate if it's a covert Max Payne adaptation. Quaid, however, admitted he's less familiar with Max Payne, although he's intrigued by the comparisons and plans to play the game soon. He said, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Quaid also shared his passion for FromSoftware games, mentioning his recent conquests in Bloodborne, Sekiro, and his current obsession with Elden Ring. He praised the challenging nature of these games, stating, "I'm a huge video game nerd. And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
