The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay, specifically highlighting combat and monster hunting as areas demanding significant improvement. He stated, "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster encounters, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red (CDPR) is acutely aware of past shortcomings and is committed to addressing them, improvements likely to carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the new trilogy.
Interestingly, developers also plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally set in Novigrad, saw Triss developing feelings for Castello and desiring a swift marriage. Geralt aided in preparations, tasks including monster extermination, acquiring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift.
