CS2 incoming: Halo Infinite Set to Launch S&D Extraction Mode with Deep Economic Mechanics

Halo Infinite's competitive scene gets a boost with the upcoming release of S&D Extraction, a new game mode slated for 2025. While Halo Infinite has seen its share of updates, this mode promises a significant addition to the game's strategic depth.

Inspired by Counter-Strike's core mechanics, S&D Extraction puts a unique spin on the classic bomb defusal formula. Two teams of four players face off, one attacking to plant a device, the other defending. Teams swap roles after each round, with the first team to win six rounds claiming victory.

A key element is the dynamic economic system. Players earn in-game currency through objectives, using it to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Pricing is performance-based, fluctuating throughout the match, and all gear resets at the end of each round. Expect a tiered system, with cheaper items early on, escalating costs mid-match, and potentially even more expensive options late in the game for players who strategically manage their funds. Respawning after elimination will also be a purchasable option.

This new mode is poised to inject fresh excitement into Halo Infinite's competitive landscape when it launches in 2025, offering a compelling blend of familiar mechanics and innovative twists.
