Dark Phoenix Saga Launches in Marvel Contest of Champions with Jean Grey, Bastion, and New Eidol

Kabam is rolling out exciting updates for Marvel Contest of Champions, ushering in the Dark Phoenix Saga, introducing new Champions, and unveiling a new character type—Eidols. This month also spotlights the game's powerful women, allowing players to influence the upcoming Champion rework.

Jean Grey and Bastion are set to join The Contest, each bringing their unique powers and a new storyline to the mix. You can recruit Jean Grey starting March 13th, with Bastion following on March 27th. The Dark Phoenix Saga begins on March 3rd, featuring Jean Grey and the X-Men facing off against dangerous variants in a thrilling new quest.

Expanding the game's lore, more Eidols will be introduced to further the Founders' narrative. Following the debut of Isophyne in December 2024, three more Eidols will be added throughout 2025, each with a unique sourcing system. The next Eidol, Lumatrix, will make its appearance on March 5th and will be available until June 4th.

Lumatrix, designed by The Founders, is a master infiltrator with capabilities in spying, sabotage, and assassination, all executed with unmatched precision. Made from ISO-8 crystals, Lumatrix can manipulate light in extraordinary ways. Despite its dazzling appearance, it's a lethal weapon, designed to eliminate foes while remaining hidden.

March also celebrates the powerful women of The Contest. Kabam has teamed up with seven female developers and content creators, each representing a different Champion. Players can participate in Solo Objectives and Realm Events to decide which Champion will be revamped in 2025.
