Dead Cells Ends Updates With Final Free Android Release

It's really the end now! We're talking about Dead Cells' free updates concluding after a fantastic six-year run — not the game itself. Since 2018, Dead Cells has delivered consistent fresh content, but this remarkable update journey is finally reaching its destination. Let's explore these final mobile updates.

What's Coming in the Final Updates?

Dead Cells' last two Android updates — Clean Cut and The End is Near — are now live. While the game remains playable, the developers have announced this marks the end of new content updates. These final releases come with some delightfully dangerous new elements.

Players get four deadly new weapons, including oversized Sewing Scissors and the punishing Misericorde sword. The Misericorde delivers brutal critical hits to weakened enemies, but curses you if they survive your strike.

The Anathema ranged weapon packs explosive power at a cost — every use curses the wielder. A new beam-attack skill called Indulgence deals heavy damage while potentially cleansing some curses.

New game modes include Speedrun and customizable Boss Rush challenges. Character customization expands with 40 new head options and an NPC who enables instant head-swapping.

New Gameplay Mechanics and Foes

Several inventive mutations alter gameplay strategies. Cursed Flask lets you use health flasks without consuming charges. Damned Vigor provides temporary invincibility to turn near-death situations around. Demonic Strength rewards cursed players with damage boosts.

The update introduces dangerous new enemies: the clingy Sore Loser that curses you upon death, the projectile-spamming Curser that attacks at close range, and the terrifying Doom Bringer who can instantly kill heavily-cursed players.
