If you're keen on enhancing various weapons, you'll find yourself needing vast quantities of these resources. One such common yet essential resource is Dented Plates, which are frequently required in bulk for numerous upgrades. Although they may seem plentiful, efficient farming methods can help you amass the large amounts needed for your upgrades.

Where to Farm Dented Plates in NieR: Automata

Dented Plates can be obtained as drops from several types of machines:

• Small Biped (All Variants)
• Small Flyer (All Variants)
• Small Sphere (All Variants)

These basic enemies are typically the most common foes you'll encounter throughout your playthrough or when revisiting chapters. However, simply respawning enemies via fast travel and roaming around isn't the most efficient way to gather materials quickly. The optimal location for farming Dented Plates is the pit where you initially battle Adam in the story.

To reach this spot, fast-travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point, then proceed deeper into the ruins until you reach the pit. Here, machines will continuously spawn as you dispatch them, with numerous basic Bipeds being the most prevalent. These enemies might be at a lower level depending on when you choose to farm this material, but they still have a good chance of dropping Dented Plates. This location is also excellent for farming Titanium Alloy, should you need that as well.

If you prefer a more dynamic approach, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of Bipeds that fight in coordinated formations with spears. These groups often drop at least one Dented Plate among them. Exploring the forest can also lead you to encounter wildlife, which is perfect for collecting Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds have an increased chance of dropping Dented Plates, so advancing through the story will not only bring you into contact with more Bipeds but also with higher-level ones, boosting your chances of obtaining these plates.

Additionally, you can enhance your farming efficiency by equipping drop-rate up plug-in chips. Just be cautious not to die and lose your chips permanently.
