DIGIMON UP Revealed for iOS and Android
Teaser Trailer Reveals New Pixel Art for Iconic Digimon
Bandai Namco Entertainment officially unveiled DIGIMON UP as a new free-to-play monster-raising RPG designed for mobile devices. Announced at DIGIMON CON 2026, the title is currently in development with plans for a global release later this year.Described as "a Digimon journey that moves with your life," the game honors its virtual pet roots while offering an accessible experience for both new players and long-time fans. The announcement trailer provided the first glimpse of redesigned pixel art and teased gameplay elements such as 3v3 battles, Digimon Cards, and Digivices.
According to the official website, players will nurture their Digimon by feeding and training them to increase their strength, a mechanic that mirrors the series' original virtual pet gameplay where care directly impacts development and evolution. Digimon can progress through multiple stages up to Mega Digivolution, with battles serving as a way to test player progress.
Building a strong bond with your partner remains central to the experience, consistent with previous franchise titles. Additionally, Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced pre-registration rewards, including Gekkomon from Digimon Beatbreak, which will be available at launch ahead of the game's planned 2026 release.
Digimon Maintains a Steady Presence
The debut of DIGIMON UP highlights Bandai Namco Entertainment’s continued dedication to the Digimon franchise, which has stayed active through various RPGs, re-releases, and spin-offs. This commitment is also seen in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, a narrative-driven RPG released in 2025 that follows characters traveling across alternate timelines to save the Digital World from collapse.
A Nintendo Switch version of Time Stranger is confirmed for 2026, with major expansion DLC scheduled for 2027. Although details on the DLC are still scarce, its announcement underscores ongoing post-launch support and reinforces the franchise’s cross-platform presence.
