Digimon's New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development
On March 20, during the DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream, Bandai Namco introduced Digimon Alysion, a free-to-play mobile TCG currently in development. This game aims to expand the Digimon TCG audience by offering a mobile platform where players can collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, build their decks, and engage in battles with other players. One of the standout features of Digimon Alysion is its in-depth story mode, providing players with additional narrative-driven content beyond the standard competitive gameplay.
A new trailer for Digimon Alysion was also revealed, giving fans a glimpse of the gameplay and introducing an all-female cast set to appear in the speculated story mode. The characters introduced include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, alongside a new Digimon called Gemmon. While no specific release date has been announced, a closed beta test is on the horizon, with more details expected soon.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger More Details Revealed
In addition to Digimon Alysion, DIGIMON CON 2025 shed light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game's background, main characters, and showcased the special abilities of some featured Digimon. Hara confirmed that players will start their journey with one of three popular Digimon from the original Digimon Adventure series: Patamon, Gomamon, or DemiDevimon, aligning with fan speculations based on the game's promotional art.
Time Stranger boasts an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, including fan favorites such as Angewomon, Gallantmon, and Agumon, surpassing the 330 Digimon available in its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory. The game introduces two protagonists, Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, who are secret agents for the organization ADAMAS, tasked with uncovering threats to both humans and Digimon. Alongside them, players will be joined by the main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon, as they navigate through time, a central theme of the game's storyline.
The event also featured various other announcements, including a special 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and the announcement of a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025. With these exciting developments, the Digimon franchise is poised for a bright future, and fans should keep an eye out for more updates throughout the year.
