After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.
How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Your journey to locate Kimura Kei begins with a tip from a ronin contact in Kii. Head to central Nakahechi Route and find him at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble pinpointing his location, consider using Scouts for a more precise lead. Look for a building marked with green flags near a cherry blossom tree. Inside, you'll meet a ronin dressed in Oda Clan attire. Engage him in conversation, and he'll direct you to find a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.
Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie
Kumabe Ujiie awaits in the northern region of Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of Kongobuji Temple. You'll spot him walking with a group of ronin, but there's no need to engage them. Approach Kumabe Ujiie, choose the "I seek guidance" dialogue option, and follow him. He will ultimately reveal Kimura Kei's location.
How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei
Kimura Kei's Training Grounds are situated in the southwest portion of Kii, just north of the shore and roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Once there, follow the other students to reach Kimura Kei. He will recognize Yasuke and order his students to attack.
Prepare for a fierce battle as you'll be surrounded by hostile ronin. Defeating them will only bring more enemies onto the path to Kimura Kei. Equip your highest level armor and weapons for this challenge. Utilize the strategically placed red explosive barrels along the route, shooting them with your bow or teppo to clear out groups of enemies efficiently.
Upon reaching Kimura Kei, a multi-phase boss fight begins, making stealth assassination impossible. Equip armor with an engraving that allows you to parry unblockable attacks, as Kimura Kei frequently employs them. In the first phase, he primarily uses a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to expose vulnerabilities, and use posture attacks and abilities to break down his armor. Once his armor is nearly shattered, the second phase starts, where he wields both a Long Katana and a standard Katana, increasing the frequency of unblockable attacks. Focus on dodging and seizing opportunities to strike.
As Kimura Kei's health drops to about half, the fight shifts outdoors. Here, his unblockable attacks become even more potent. Dodge frequently and maintain a safe distance when necessary. Employing ranged attacks with your bow or teppo can be highly effective.
Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Successfully defeating Kimura Kei grants you 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor features an engraving that reduces the impact of enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of his health missing.
How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
After defeating all the Shinbakufu, the Silver Queen appears on the Templar Board, assisting the Portuguese in their pillaging of Tamba. Similar to Kimura Kei, you'll need to speak with several contacts before confronting her. Start with the spy.
Where to Find and Talk to The Spy
The spy you need to consult about the Silver Queen is located in Southeast Tamba, within the Silver Lands. Upon entering the investigation area, look for him sitting on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. He will provide you with the Silver Queen's location.
Where to Meet the Silver Queen
The Silver Queen is found in the town of Tada, just northeast of Tada Kakurega. She'll be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach and engage her in conversation, then follow her to her house for tea. Be cautious, as you'll wake up drugged in Tada Silver Mine.
How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine
Upon awakening in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine, sprint into the door to break it open. After dealing with the alerted guards, you have the choice to either fight or sneak your way out. Opting for stealth is quicker and less risky. Head southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path.
How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
The Silver Queen requires Yasuke's help to rescue her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke’s true target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north toward Kameyama Castle. Stock up on Ammo or Rations at the Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple as you enter Kameyama.
Activate Pathfinder and navigate through Kameyama Castle, eliminating guards as you proceed along the suggested path. Inside the living quarters, you'll find a bleeding servant who provides you with a key to the castle’s Tenshu.
How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana
With the key to the Tenshu in hand, enter the main castle building beneath the Viewpoint and unlock the door to Akechi Mitsuyoshi's cell. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to take out distant threats. Once he's safe, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar after defeating him. Baltazar is surrounded by soldiers, so it's best to isolate him by eliminating them first. Use abilities and posture attacks to break his guard and deal significant damage.
After defeating Baltazar and reclaiming Akechi Mitsuyoshi's Katana, head north to Atago Shrine. Speak with Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the shrine, where he'll reveal the next target's location.
How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro
Yasuke's ultimate target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan. He's located in Western Tamba at Takeda Castle, perched high atop a mountain at the end of a winding road. Activate Pathfinder to find the most direct route.
Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with numerous enemies and alarm bells. Stealth might not be your best approach as Yasuke, so prioritize disabling the alarm bells with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you'll reach a set of double doors that lead to Nuno Caro.
Fight through Nuno Caro's men as you ascend the castle. Nuno Caro awaits at the summit, triggering a boss fight. He fights similarly to his soldiers, wielding a sword and a pistol. His main sword attack is a four-swipe combo, which you can block or parry. Dodge when you see his pistol glow red to avoid its shot. Use Abilities to inflict high damage and expose vulnerabilities, then strike repeatedly until he's defeated. Upon killing Nuno Caro, you'll complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available from March 20th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
