"Dune: Awakening Delay: Three Weeks for Beta-Inspired Changes"

Author: Carter May 15,2025

The highly anticipated open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's films, has been rescheduled for release on June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom announced this delay, emphasizing their commitment to delivering a polished experience. Those eager to dive into the sands of Arrakis early can do so on June 5 by purchasing the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition of the game.

Funcom cited feedback from their ongoing Persistent Closed Beta as the reason for the delay, stating that the extra time will allow the team to "cook" the game further and implement requested changes. Additionally, this delay paves the way for a large-scale beta weekend next month, offering more players the chance to experience and provide feedback on Dune: Awakening.

While the delay might be disappointing for some fans eager to explore the Dune universe, Funcom is set to host a combat livestream today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event will delve into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, providing fans with more insights into what to expect.
