Shift Up has released updates for both the PlayStation 5 and PC versions of Stellar Blade, addressing a range of bugs and technical issues.
While this update doesn’t add new story content or costumes for players who have already completed the game, it resolves several problems related to Photo Mode, dialogue sequences, keyboard controls, and missing hair or weapon displays.
Here are the key changes:
Stellar Blade Update 1.3.0 Patch Notes
Photo Mode has been improved: the logo control indicator now appears when selecting a logo. Fixed an issue that prevented players from leaving the shop after purchasing 'Polarized Sunglasses' at Clyde’s shop. Resolved a problem where Eve’s hair would not display during the final Elder Naytiba cutscene when wearing the 'Fluffy Bear' or 'Pink Bear' outfits. Fixed an instance where Eve’s final Korean voice line was cut off during the 'Lost Items from Heaven' conversation with Clyde in the Great Desert. Addressed a visual issue where Eve’s arm could appear unnatural in Photo Mode while wearing the 'Black Pearl' or 'Red Pearl' outfits. When using FSR upscaling, a game restart is now required to enable frame generation. Fixed a bug where the Fusion Weapon would not appear when beginning the battle against the Airborne Squad after defeating Providence. Resolved an issue where using the keyboard numpad to trigger skills in the Training Room caused the system to become unresponsive. Fixed a problem where the striped pattern on the progress bar could obscure the reel-in indicator when fishing for the 'Betta' fish with a mouse and keyboard. Corrected an issue where target lock-on would not function correctly under specific input conditions when using the 'Stinger' ability. Fixed a bug where the zoom function in the Hair Salon menu did not respond to controller or keyboard input. Addressed an issue where dialogue would sometimes not appear after interacting with Adam in the Eidos 9 Atelier. Resolved an occasional problem where Dororong would not appear during their introduction scene in Xion. Fixed a delay in newly unlocked items appearing immediately after increasing a shop’s affinity level. Improved the save timestamp system—time since last save now reflects only successful save attempts. Enhanced visibility of the save failure message by changing its color to yellow. Various other bug fixes and stability improvements.
Stellar Blade launched on PC on June 11 and has already become Sony’s most successful single-player release on Steam. The PC version includes support for AI upscaling via NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an uncapped framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display compatibility, higher resolution environmental textures, and DualSense integration for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
IGN’s Stellar Blade review scored the game 7/10, noting: “Stellar Blade excels in core action mechanics but is held back by unmemorable characters, an underwhelming story, and some frustrating RPG elements that keep it from ranking among the genre’s best.”
A sequel, Stellar Blade 2, has been confirmed and is currently in development.
