Dune: Awakening's developer has exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the game's release: it will launch without the burden of a monthly subscription. Dive into the latest updates and explore the various game editions available for purchase.
Dune: Awakening Coming on May 20
No Early Access and No Monthly Subscription
Dune: Awakening developer Funcom has confirmed that the game will fully launch on May 20, bypassing the early access phase. This announcement was detailed in their latest Steam blog post dated March 21, where they also shared insights into the game's business model, system requirements, and post-launch strategies.
Set in the universe of Frank Herbert's iconic 1965 sci-fi novel, Dune: Awakening promises a multiplayer survival experience without the recurring cost seen in other MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, and EVE Online. Instead, the game will evolve through free updates, continuously adding new content, features, and enhancements.
Funcom assures players that Dune: Awakening will receive long-term support, drawing on their extensive experience with live service games. Their portfolio includes Anarchy Online, soon to celebrate its 25th anniversary, and Conan Exiles, which continues to thrive with regular free updates, DLCs, and expansions.
