Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's highly anticipated new project, *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, is gearing up for an exclusive test phase, but only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners. Starting January 10, you can register for a chance to dive into the game during the scheduled February testing period. Unfortunately, this means a significant number of fans, particularly those on PC, won't have early access to this exciting new title.

Bandai Namco has kept the reasons behind the PC exclusion under wraps, leaving PC gamers eagerly awaiting any updates on potential future testing opportunities. Those fortunate enough to own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, however, will get the first taste of *Elden Ring: Nightreign* before its official release.

*Elden Ring: Nightreign* continues the captivating narrative from its predecessor while introducing players to new, darker environments. Console players will have the unique chance to explore these fresh experiences ahead of others. Meanwhile, PC users can keep an eye out for announcements about possible upcoming test phases.

One notable change in *Elden Ring: Nightreign* is the removal of the traditional "leave a message" feature seen in previous FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki shed light on this decision in an interview, explaining that due to the game's session length of approximately forty minutes, there simply isn't enough time for players to engage with the messaging system. "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes," Ishizaki stated.
