FF7 Rebirth PC Features Unveiled

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Version: A Detailed Look at the Features

A new trailer confirms a wealth of features for the upcoming PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, launching nearly a year after its PS5 debut. The PC version promises significant enhancements and caters to diverse player preferences.

Released in February 2024 as a PS5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth quickly became a critical darling, earning high praise and Game of the Year nominations. Following a short PS5 exclusivity period, PC and Xbox gamers eagerly awaited its arrival. While an Xbox release remains uncertain, the PC launch is confirmed for January 23, 2025.

Square Enix recently detailed the PC port's specifications, showcasing impressive visual fidelity and performance options. The game will support resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 120fps, alongside "improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals." While specifics remain undisclosed, players can expect a noticeable visual upgrade. Three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) allow customization based on hardware capabilities, and a configurable NPC count setting helps manage CPU load.

Key Features of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Port:

  • Mouse and keyboard support
  • DualSense controller support (with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers)
  • Up to 4K resolution and 120fps
  • Improved lighting and enhanced visuals
  • Three adjustable graphical presets: High, Medium, Low
  • Customizable NPC count
  • Nvidia DLSS support

Notably, while the trailer highlights Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR support is absent. This might put players with AMD graphics cards at a slight performance disadvantage.

The robust feature set suggests a strong PC port. However, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's PS5 sales weren't as stellar as anticipated for Square Enix, leaving the PC version's commercial performance yet to be seen. The extensive features, however, should attract a significant PC audience.
