Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo series and a popular Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, this comeback had a snag.

Initially, a special Matte Black style was offered exclusively to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The subsequent announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash.

Some players believed this action violated legal agreements and even began preparations for a class-action lawsuit. Fortunately, Epic Games reversed its decision within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single game on an Xbox Series S|X console.

This reversal appears to be the most sensible outcome, especially considering the holiday season. Such a controversial move could easily have soured the festive spirit for many players.
