Bethesda and id Software unveiled a fresh DOOM: The Dark Ages gameplay demo during the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks pointing to a May 15th release date.
Transporting players to the medieval era, The Dark Ages promises a distinct gameplay experience. Players will embody a powerful, durable combatant, a "killing machine" in the words of the developers. Unlike the frenetic, parkour-heavy action of DOOM: Eternal, The Dark Ages emphasizes grounded combat. Expect less aerial acrobatics and more brutal, close-quarters engagements utilizing a diverse arsenal.
Central to this arsenal are a shield and mace, offering a new tactical dimension. For the first time in the series, players will command a colossal mech to decimate smaller demons. Furthermore, the campaign will feature dragon riding sequences.
A customizable difficulty system allows players to fine-tune the challenge, adjusting enemy damage and other parameters to their preference.
