Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated return in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns about the game's character rerun schedule, complicated by the large roster of over 90 playable characters and limited banner slots. The current system struggles to provide equitable rerun opportunities for all limited 5-star characters.
While the introduction of the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. Even with this addition, some characters, like Shenhe, experienced exceptionally long waits between appearances. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended rerun delays are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this challenge. His absence from event banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for a chance to obtain him. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, points to Version 5.4 as his rerun debut. This is further supported by recent Spiral Abyss adjustments that benefit his playstyle.
However, it's crucial to approach this information cautiously. Flying Flame's track record on Natlan-related leaks is inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to feature Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are included in the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slots are likely to feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. The launch of Version 5.4 is projected for February 12, 2025.
