After more than two years, Grand Theft Auto V on PC is set to receive a major update that brings it largely in line with its console counterparts. The release is scheduled for March 4. This update will introduce features from the native PS5 and Xbox Series versions that launched in 2022. All current PC players will receive it for free, and progress in both GTA Online and Story Mode will transfer automatically.

The upgrade focuses heavily on GTA Online, introducing a wealth of previously unavailable content for PC players. Additionally, the GTA+ subscription service will now be accessible on PC, offering benefits such as accelerated profit collection from in-game businesses. Rockstar Games has also enhanced anti-cheat measures.

Graphical improvements are a key part of the update, though system requirements will also rise. Players whose hardware cannot run the new version can continue with the older one, which will still be supported. However, cross-version play is not supported, meaning players on different versions won’t be able to join the same sessions.
