Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced the exciting arrival of the Truth Enforcers Warbond, a premium content drop for Helldivers 2. Dive in to discover all the details about this thrilling addition to the game.
Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Brings in New Weapons, Armor Sets, and Cosmetics
Enforce the Truth for Super Earth This October 31, 2024
Get ready for a Halloween treat with Helldivers 2's latest addition—the Truth Enforcers Warbond, set to launch on October 31, 2024. Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony are bringing more than just cosmetic updates; this Warbond is a comprehensive arsenal upgrade, as stated by Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead's Social Media and Community Manager. It's your chance to step into the role of one of Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers. For newcomers, Warbonds operate similarly to a battle pass in live-service games, where you can unlock items using earned Medals. Unlike traditional battle passes, these Warbonds are evergreen—once you buy them, they're yours to enjoy indefinitely, allowing you to unlock their contents at your own pace. The Truth Enforcers Warbond will be available for purchase at the Acquisitions Center in the Destroyer ship’s menu for 1,000 Super Credits.
According to the official PlayStation Blog, the Warbond focuses on upholding the Ministry of Truth’s rigorous standards. Players can look forward to an assortment of advanced weaponry and armor sets designed to equip your Helldiver to face any challenge head-on.
To demonstrate your loyalty to Super Earth, equip the new PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol, a versatile sidearm with options for semi-automatic fire or charged shots for more substantial impact. For those needing more firepower, the SMG-32 Reprimand submachine gun is perfect for close-quarters combat. Meanwhile, the SG-20 Halt shotgun offers powerful crowd control, switching between stun rounds and armor-penetrating flechette rounds.
For those eager to showcase their commitment to Super Earth’s ideals, the Truth Enforcers Warbond includes two new armor sets: the UF-16 Inspector and the UF-50 Bloodhound. The sleek, light UF-16 Inspector armor set features white coloring with red accents and the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape, ideal for players who value mobility and style. Conversely, the medium UF-50 Bloodhound set, with its red accents and "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape, caters to those preferring a more robust defense. Both sets come with the Unflinching perk, which minimizes the staggering effect from enemy hits.
Beyond the capes, players can earn a range of banners and cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, along with the "At Ease" emote to assert the seriousness of the Truth Enforcers within Helldivers 2's satirical military theme.
Additionally, the Warbond introduces the Dead Sprint booster, allowing players to sprint and dive even when their stamina is depleted, albeit at the cost of their health. This "high risk, high reward" feature can be a game-changer in intense situations where quick maneuvering is crucial.
Helldivers 2’s Promising Future Despite Initial Player Base Decline
Despite its successful launch earlier this year, with a peak of 458,709 concurrent players on Steam (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 experienced a decline in its player base. This drop was largely due to over 177 countries being unable to access the game following Sony's initial requirement to link Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network. Although Sony later reversed this policy, the game remains unavailable in those regions.
The game's Steam concurrent player count fell to around 30,000, but the August update, Escalation of Freedom, temporarily boosted this to over 60,000. However, maintaining this increase proved challenging. Currently, Helldivers 2's Steam player count hovers just below 40,000.
The introduction of the Truth Enforcers Warbond, with its enticing new content, might just be the catalyst needed to rekindle the enthusiasm of returning players and attract new ones to fight for truth, justice, and Super Earth.
