Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!
Heroes of the Storm is bringing back the beloved Heroes Brawl game mode, rebranded as Brawl Mode. This exciting update, currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR), introduces a rotating selection of unique map challenges and game variations, reviving dozens of discontinued maps after a five-year hiatus.
The original Heroes Brawl, initially launched as Arena Mode in 2016, offered weekly rotating challenges with unpredictable twists. Inspired by Hearthstone's Tavern Brawls, these included modified map layouts, altered objectives, and unconventional rulesets. However, due to the rising popularity of single-lane maps and the maintenance challenges, it was replaced by ARAM in 2020.
Now, Brawl Mode makes a triumphant return! The PTR patch notes reveal a bi-weekly rotation (1st and 15th of each month), offering players a special chest reward after completing three matches within the active Brawl period. With a vast library of past Brawls, fans can anticipate the return of many favorites, and potentially even some brand-new challenges.
The initial Brawl Mode, the festive Snow Brawl, is currently live on the PTR. The official launch is expected within a month, possibly coinciding with the beginning of February, given the PTR's three-week test duration. This revival is particularly fitting, as June 2, 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Heroes of the Storm.
This resurgence of Brawl Mode is a significant win for the Heroes of the Storm community, sparking renewed hope for the game's future.
