If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE. Known for his electrifying performances at venues like Madison Square Garden and with sales exceeding 40 million records, HYDE is now the star of a thrilling new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," which has officially launched globally today.
Originally released in Japan, "Hyde Run" has now opened its doors to players worldwide. The game's developer and publisher, Phoenixx, aims to celebrate HYDE's musical journey through a game packed with nods to his illustrious career.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you'll experience the thrill of parkour as you navigate through a dynamic concert stage and a futuristic Tokyo simultaneously. As HYDE, you'll race through Neo Tokyo, dodging obstacles, executing wall-runs past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes that echo through the game's high-energy atmosphere. Unlike typical endless runners, "Hyde Run" infuses the experience with the electrifying energy of a guitar solo and a deep dive into fan culture.
As you dash through the city, you can collect various power-ups, such as magnets that attract notes or barriers that protect you from damage. Before embarking on each run, you can equip items like Note Gain to amplify your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
You'll also gather crystals, which unlock exclusive HYDE-themed outfits and room items spanning his extensive career. Additionally, unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to personal voice clips from HYDE himself.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" offers more than just running; you can personalize HYDE's in-game room with memorabilia from the past two decades, including tour gear and subtle references to his career. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, enriching the experience.
Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set features HYDE in his iconic music video attire, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more laid-back look, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set captures a summer festival vibe, while a Japanese-style furniture set with bamboo, bonboris, and a HYDE-inspired wind chime adds a traditional touch.
