Let the demon hunting begin. Netflix is bringing the popular video game series Devil May Cry to life with an anime adaptation, and fans have been treated to a thrilling new trailer. But what might be even more exciting is the posthumous appearance of the legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy, known for voicing Batman in numerous animated projects. Conroy will star as VP Baines, a new character introduced in the series, whose voice can be heard at the beginning of the trailer.

PlayConroy's final voice performance in *Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3* back in July 2024 received widespread acclaim, making his role in *Devil May Cry* even more special for fans mourning his loss in November 2022 at the age of 66. The cast is rounded out by talented actors including Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as the protagonist, Dante.

According to the official synopsis provided by Netflix, “Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”

Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like the 2012 Dredd reboot, Killing Them Softly, and The Voices, will serve as the showrunner for the series. Shankar is also slated to executive produce an adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, though its progress remains uncertain since its announcement in 2017.

Studio Mir, the acclaimed South Korean studio behind The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97, will helm the production of this much-anticipated series. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
