Krysten Ritter is officially confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
As Variety reports, the announcement of Ritter's return as Marvel's private investigator was made today during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York. This confirmation ends months of speculation that the Disney+ series might reunite several of the original Netflix Defenders, as fans eagerly await their official integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ritter appeared on stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, sharing her enthusiasm about bringing Jessica Jones back to the screen.
“It feels incredible to return to this character after our three seasons and The Defenders series, and now to officially join the MCU,” Ritter stated. “I'm thrilled to revisit this iconic role, and while I can't reveal too much, there are significant developments ahead for Jessica Jones. This season promises to be absolutely spectacular!”

Ritter first embodied the New York-based Marvel hero when Jessica Jones debuted on Netflix in 2015. The series continued for two additional seasons, along with The Defenders crossover event, but when Netflix concluded its Marvel programming, prospects for Ritter's return to the role seemed uncertain.
The situation changed in 2021 when Disney reacquired the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Cox's reappearance in a Spider-Man: No Way Home cameo and his own Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, viewers speculated that the revival could reintroduce other Netflix heroes. With Punisher playing a key role in Season 1, Ritter's involvement in Season 2 aligns perfectly with this direction.
Ritter's last appearance as the character was in Jessica Jones Season 3, released in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation indicate that the MCU may have further plans for Jessica Jones beyond this season. Currently, audiences can anticipate her return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney hasn't announced a specific release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane indicated that more episodes are scheduled for March 2026.
