Mai Shiranui Sparks Massive Interest in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 enthusiasts are flocking back to the game to try out the latest addition to the roster: Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series. As Capcom's acclaimed fighting game, Street Fighter 6 has reached an impressive milestone, selling 4.4 million copies as of December 31, 2024. Despite some fans expressing concerns over the frequency of new content, the introduction of Mai Shiranui as the third fighter of the second season has reignited excitement within the community.

The impact of Mai's release on the game's popularity was immediate and significant. On the day she became available, Street Fighter 6 saw a peak of over 63,000 concurrent players on Steam, a substantial increase from the previous peak of 24-27 thousand players, marking the highest player count since May 2024.

Mai Shiranui is accessible to Battle Pass holders, who can delve deeper into her character in World Tour mode. Players have the opportunity to build relationships with Mai, master her moves, and then put their skills to the test in Battle Hub. To further enhance the experience, a second costume inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has been added to the game.

In addition to Mai's arrival, Battle Hub welcomes a temporary guest, Professor Woshige, a renowned developer and legend in the fighting game community. Players can challenge him until March 10. The game also introduces new ranks and rewards in the Master League, adding more depth to the competitive scene.

Capcom has released a trailer showcasing Mai Shiranui's dynamic techniques, further stoking the anticipation and excitement among the Street Fighter 6 community.
