Marvel enthusiasts eager for more adventures with Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight will be pleased to know that the character is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), albeit not in the form of a Season 2 of the Disney+ series. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, while a direct continuation of the 2022 series isn't on the cards, Moon Knight is slated for future appearances within the MCU.

The strategy at Marvel Television has evolved since the debut of Moon Knight. Initially, the approach was to introduce characters through standalone series, paving the way for their integration into larger MCU projects. This was evident with characters like Kamala Khan, who was introduced in Ms. Marvel before joining the cast of The Marvels. However, Marvel Television is now shifting towards a model that mirrors traditional TV, focusing on annual releases.

Winderbaum elaborated, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While fans await more details on Moon Knight's future, Oscar Isaac lent his voice to the character in the third and final season of the Disney+ animated series, Marvel’s What If…?. However, there's no confirmation yet on his return in a live-action format.

Looking ahead, the MCU's TV lineup on Disney+ is robust, with confirmed releases including Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December. Amidst these developments, Marvel Television recently paused production on three other shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. Yet, there's exciting news for fans of street-level heroes as Marvel explores the possibility of reuniting Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.
