Marvel Rivals is set to enhance the gaming experience with exciting updates for its upcoming Season 2. Dive into the details of what NetEase has planned for team-up skills and new skins for fan-favorite characters like Spiderman and Iron Man.
Upcoming Updates for Marvel Rivals
New Team-Up Skills and Changes
In an insightful interview with PC Gamer on March 14, Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen shared exciting news about the changes coming to team-up skills in Season 2. "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones," Chen explained. These updates, combined with overall balance adjustments, are set to revolutionize the combat environment and enhance player experiences throughout the season.
Currently, the game features 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela with either Loki or Thor, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. With the game's roster continuously expanding, it will be intriguing to see how NetEase manages these adjustments to maintain game balance.
Balancing Heroes
Chen further elaborated on the approach to balancing heroes in Marvel Rivals, emphasizing the importance of data analysis. "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes," he stated. This includes analyzing win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows in both Quick Match and Competitive Modes across various ranks and tournaments.
Additionally, Chen highlighted the significance of analyzing hero lineup compositions and their win rates within these modes. "At the same time, we will analyze the composition of hero lineups and their win rates within the aforementioned modes, which will be crucial references for our overall balancing direction," he added. Player feedback also plays a vital role in shaping these decisions.
With plans to introduce a new hero every half-season, Marvel Rivals is set to add approximately 8 new heroes annually. As the roster grows, the challenge of maintaining game balance becomes increasingly complex, yet Chen assures that the team is ready. "The content for Season 2 is ready and set to go. The designs for Seasons 3 and 4 have also been completed and are currently under intensive development!" he confirmed. This aligns with NetEase's commitment to supporting Marvel Rivals for over a decade, promising continuous and thrilling updates.
