Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its doors. This isn't entirely unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with gameplay issues.
Closure Date:
Launched in 2017, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage will shut down on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.
Final Events:
Several events are planned before the game's end:
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
- All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
- "Thanks For Everything" Campaign: November 1st - December 1st
Players can continue collecting cards, participating in summons, and using in-game items until the final day. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
Reasons for Closure:
While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and defense mechanics, the game's later development contributed to its decline. The introduction of Minato Namikaze, and subsequent power creep, alienated many players. Increased pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the dwindling of multiplayer features further hastened the game's downfall.
The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to experience it before its closure. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Wings of Heroes' latest update.
